Team

D. Michael Adams
Founder & CEO

Michael established Ocean Assets Institute (OAI) to help finance solutions for sustainable maritime industries, healthy oceans and coastal communities.

He is active on several research groups for sustainable maritime finance in Europe and Asia. Michael began his career by founding The Journal of Investing in 1987 and Pedigree Investments Ltd in 1992.  He raised capital and structured for alternative investments until 2010, when he became active in sustainable finance.

 

Michael and his family lived in the Bahamas (2006-9) where they funded coral reef studies and participated in the launch of a marine reserve and the Bahama Lobster FIP.

Michael holds a MSc Business Policy from Columbia University, a BA from Bates College and lives with his family in Switzerland.

Nicola Lei Ravello
Senior Analyst, OAI
& Founder, White Stag Investing

Nicola has covered sustainable finance independently since early 2019, after a career as a hedge fund analyst.  He has had many engagements with the financial community on how to recognize sustainability as a long-term source of value.

 

His original research on promising themes - from water to the blue economy - is published by his consultancy White Stag Investing.  Nicola earned a BSc in Economics from HEC Lausanne and a MSc in Finance from the University of Zürich.
